The General Association for Linguistics (Algemene Vereniging voor Taalwetenschap, AVT) is an association for all linguists in the Netherlands and Belgium. Every area of linguistics and every approach (theoretical, experimental, descriptive, functional or formal) is welcome. The General Association for Linguistics represents linguists in the Netherlands internationally via CIPL, supports linguistic activities in the Netherlands, publishes Nota Bene (John Benjamins) and organizes the Grote Taaldag.
